Fans of House of Cards know very well that Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) is all-too capable of doing some pretty despicable things. Things as seemingly harmless as deception and manipulation, and tasks as outright damning as murder. Yet everyone who has kept up with the Democratic Majority Whip’s gradual rise power (vis-à-vis the Vice Presidency and the Presidency in season two) has been thinking the same thing — now that his wife Claire (Robin Wright) has left him, what awaits President Underwood in the fourth season of the hit Netflix show?
Per the new one-minute trailer released on Wednesday, days much darker than anything fans have ever seen before. Or at least that’s what Frank and Claire’s narration seems to suggest, because the President of the United States is really f*cking pissed off.
FRANK: You have no idea what it means to have nothing. You don’t value what we have achieved. I have had to fight for everything my entire life.
CLAIRE: I saw a future. Our future.
FRANK: We had a future until you started destroying it.
Cue the dramatic, percussion-heavy music and a montage of behind-closed-doors sex and violence and you get the first trailer for House of Cards‘ latest installment, which premieres March 4 on Netflix.
