Idris Elba Wants A ‘Luther’ Movie, And So Should You (And The Morning Links)

This weekend, millions of people will see Pacific Rim and figure out what we’ve known for years: Idris Elba is a motherf*cking boss. (Also, robots fighting monsters = awesome.) His work on The Wire was the first indication and Luther verified it. Elba’s currently filming series three of the BBC series, but if he and creator Neil Cross have their way, that won’t be the last we see of John Luther: they want a feature film. In an interview with EW, Elba said, “It’s our engine at the moment. Neil wants to make it and so do I, and we are hopefully making steps towards that. It’s a long process…I think we probably go back to the beginning and start from an origin story.” (Via)
