What You Need To Know About Netflix’s ‘Jessica Jones’

Jessica Jones premieres tomorrow on Netflix, just in time to binge watch over the long Thanksgiving break. But if you’re the casual Marvel fan, you might not know much about the series other than it stars Jane from Breaking Bad and that Stan Lee will definitely be making an appearance. Even if you’re excited for the show, it can help to have a refresher course before every episode hits the internet. So here’s what you need to know about the new series.

As mentioned, Krysten Ritter plays the titular Jessica Jones, and she’s the perfect person for the part (especially after being the only good part of Don’t Trust The B In Apartment 23 besides James Van Der Beek). While Jones was once a superhero, she has left that life and turned to being a private investigator. Unlike the clearly Marvel work DaredevilJessica Jones is more like a noir series, with Jones working to help other heroes in the same shared universe. So if you’re like me, you hope it’s a little more finessed of a series built on characters (like the first half of Winter Soldier) rather than the CGI headaches in the MCU movies (like the second half of The Winter Soldier). Indirect references to The Avengers will be made, while the show will directly use characters from Daredevil and future Netflix series Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

Are you excited for Jessica Jones? And what Marvel comic would you like to see as a Netflix series?
