NBC Defends Jimmy Fallon And Shoots Down The Idea That He Has A Drinking Problem

Some people are simply bit by the injury bug. Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon has been eaten alive by that pesky creature and the network that employs him would like you to know that the jewel in their late night crown has not been making these trips to the hospital because of anything booze-related.

NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt addressed the subject of Fallon’s injury-prone track record (“We’re always worried about his safety and health”) and the booze-based rumors surrounding these ailments while speaking at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. Greenblatt described the saucier reports of Fallon’s behavior as “exaggerated” and made a point to defend the honor of the SNL vet.

“He’s good. He doesn’t have a drinking problem,” Greenblatt said after the session. “He goes out and has fun. He’s had some accidents. Aside from that, he’s in better shape than he’s ever been.”

Greenblatt also noted that executives have spoken with the comedian about his accidents and stressed that the Taxi thespian will be shipshape for years to come. By the way, if you’d like to see Jimmy Fallon ingest questionable things, you can check out the “Drinko” battle he had with Kevin Hart on last night’s edition of The Tonight Show.
