If there’s one thing the world needs, it’s more Harry Potter. If there’s another thing the world needs, it’s excellent TV shows that bring beloved characters to life every week. Unfortunately, J.K. Rowling just crushed the dreams of millions of hopeful fans when she revealed that Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Dumbledore won’t be coming to television.

Mashable reports that the news broke when a fan asked Rowling whether a show would be coming… well, ever. Rowling’s response, while funny, wasn’t very uplifting:

That tweeter must feel such mixed emotions. On the one hand, J.K. Rowling responded and OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. On the other, her response was basically, “That thing you’ve always wanted? It’s never happening.” The only way that Rowling could have broken more hearts is if she had also revealed that magic isn’t real and that my letter to Hogwarts wasn’t lost in the mail.

Still, there’s more Harry Potter (or Harry Potter universe) to come, so all hope is not lost. And, if you’re going to be trolled on Twitter, is there anyone you’d ever rather be trolled by than the author of your favorite book series?
