John Oliver of “Last Week Tonight” and Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, have found themselves at a bit of a quandary as they have found themselves in the midst of contradicting viewpoints.

Let’s briefly recap this sketchy situation. On Friday, Oliver said that he is not interested at all in having Trump on his HBO show. The next day, Trump quickly retorted by claiming that the Last Week Tonight host did reach out to him in an attempt to have him appear on the show. Trump was not down with the “boring” vibe Oliver exudes and declared that the show was a “waste of time and energy”:

It didn’t take Oliver and Co. long to fire back with a salvo of their own on Twitter. They admit the show is perfectly boring, but they maintain that Trump was never invited in the first place.

The beef between the two parties started on Friday when Oliver appeared on CBS This Morning and stated that when it pertains to Trump, he doesn’t “really care about him in any capacity.” He said that Trump, “said everything he has to say.”

This is hardly the first issue that Trump has had with the media. Trump announced a boycott of Fox News in September, proclaiming that he was treated unfairly by the network. That boycott ended a short five days later when he was interviewed by Bill O’Reilly.
