John Stamos Implies Network TV Is Dead And Gone After ‘Grandfathered’ Cancellation

How do you feel about network TV right now? If your favorite program was among those slaughtered in this recent cancellation bloodbath, the format might be dead to you. Don’t worry. You’re not alone. John Stamos feels the same way, too.

You may have missed it during yesterday’s carnage, but Fox elected not to have mercy on the Stamos sitcom Grandfathered after a single season. You may be familiar with Grandfathered for its Stamos factor and tendency to be part of “Rob Lowe + John Stamos = Fox Banks On Comedy Vets!” stories off the hop of the 2015-16 TV season. Stamos expressed his disappointment with the cancellation via the magic of Twitter and a carefully placed emoji.

YOU HEAR THAT, BIG NETWORKS? STAMOS THINKS YOU’RE DEAD! AND HE LAUGHS AT YOU FROM HIGH ATOP HIS STREAMING TV NETFLIX PERCH! HA HA HA!

That wasn’t the only bit of social media response Stamos had about Grandfathered‘s demise. Things got charmingly self-effacing on Instagram…

And the Beach Boy interloper tweeted some warm memories of the show’s single shot run…

The upside for Stamos is that he’s not without a TV gig, we seem to be at a point in human history where Jake in Progress could conceivably be rebooted and the public continues to clamor for the Dannon Oikos commercials to be adapted into a gritty AMC drama. He’ll be alright, that Stamos.
