John Stamos, who presented at the 67th Emmy Awards on Sunday night, can be seen in the upcoming series Grandfathered, premiering on Fox next week and the Full House sequel, Fuller House, next year. In an interview in the upcoming issue of Details magazine, however, Stamos talks about one role he missed out on. Apparently, Ryan Murphy tried to cast Stamos for the part of a male prostitute in a series that never came to fruition after Full House ended, which only sounds like it would have been the most amazing series ever.

He wanted to do three male hookers, like Charlie’s Angels, who’d go in and save relationships by having sex with the husband and the wife. Maybe I was too afraid then.

Okay, that premise legit sounds straight up like a Kids in the Hall sketch, and I would have watched every minute of it. But if you’ll recall, Full House ended in 1995. There was no FX at the time. Where would a series like that even have aired? On the USA network after Silk Stalkings? Regardless, that is one hell of a missed opportunity.

But that wasn’t the only one. Years later, Murphy approached Stamos about another series, one which he also unfortunately turned down:

Ryan also wrote Nip/Tuck for me, but the person with whom I was in a relationship at the time read the script and said, “That’s demeaning toward women.” I’m not with her anymore.

Stamos is a pretty busy guy these days, but maybe Ryan Murphy will give him another chance for a cameo on American Horror Story or even American Crime Story. Better late than never.
