Jon Glaser Is Bringing The Bone Zone To Pawnee

Parks and Recreation already has one of, if not the, most impressive cast on TV. There’s Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Adam Scott, Aziz Ansari, Chris Pratt, and Aubrey Plaza, of course, but even the show’s guest stars, including Louis C.K., Ben Schwartz, Natalie Morales, Megan Mullally, Matt Besser, Nick Kroll, and Lil’ Sebastian, play more fully formed characters than other show’s main casts. Add another name to the list:

TVLine has learned exclusively that comedian Jon Glaser has joined Parks and Recreation‘s fifth season, playing a town councilman — one of two the audience has yet to meet. (We have in seasons past been introduced to the lecherous Councilman Dexhart and the reasonable Councilman Howser.)

Mike Schur tells us that the longtime Late Night with Conan O’Brien writer’s character, a local orthodontist, “becomes Leslie’s nemesis. He doesn’t find her interesting or charming at all, and doesn’t care about her bright-eyed, bushy-tailed attitude toward making the town better…He just doesn’t like her.” (Via)

But he will like Jean-Ralphio, so much so that he decides to throw the young mensch a belated ska mitzvah. Then everyone will have a good time. Yay, references!
