Joseph Gordon-Levitt Is Great At Lip-Syncing And Dressing As Janet Jackson

If nothing else, The Night Before, Jonathan Levine’s new comedy starring Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Anthony Mackie (read our review here), is a welcome return of adorable JGL. Since 50/50, where he was swoon in a sweater, Gordon-Levitt has played steely characters in dramas, including Not-Robin in The Dark Knight Rises, young Bruce Willis in Looper, and sex addict Don Jon in the movie of the same name. But now he’s back to dressing as an elf, free-styling on Sway in the Morning, and, most importantly, lip-syncing to “Rhythm Nation” while dressed as Janet Jackson in the music video.

The three Night Before stars dropped by last night’s episode of Lip Sync Battle, but only two of them performed. The other, Rogen, put on his onesie to become an Elf on a Shelf. The competition was between Anthony Mackie, who went MC Hammer for “2 Legit 2 Quit,” and JGL. Have a look.

He is very good at lip-syncing. The choreography, the dedication, the lipstick — Gordon-Levitt has a real appreciation for the song, and we’re that much more in love with him. Sorry, Falcon, but you might as well “quit.” Meanwhile, here they are doing Usher’s “Yeah” and Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl.”
