It’s been ages since Kevin Hart and Ice Cube joined Conan on the road to test out Lyft, ending up with a bunch of alcohol and a desire for weed. Now with Ride Along 2 hitting theaters, they’re back for another drive around town. The difference this time is their ride is Conan employee Diana Chang and she’s attempting to get ready for her driver’s test.
The ride starts off simple enough, with just Conan along for the ride. Then Ice Cube and Kevin Hart jump to send things over the cliff into crazy town, sending Diana to the weed shop, having her throw pennies at drivers who cut her off, and eventually ending up at Popeye’s. Popeye’s is damn delicious, so who can blame them.
The entire segment is gold, especially once Cube and Hart get involved. I don’t know what it is, but all three together just seem to attract craziness and clearly have a good time. And for what it’s worth, Diana handles the driving pretty well. She takes on LA traffic and manages not to die — although there is a close call with a cop in a crosswalk, but Kevin Hart handles it. He’s a Christian and all.
