Kristen Wiig Premiered The Emotional ‘Trailer’ For Her Oscar-Baiting Performance On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Kristen Wiig has gotten herself quite a varied acting résumé since leaving SNL. While there are big budget comedies like Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters, she also has independent projects like The Skeleton Twins and Nasty Baby, the latter which she was promoting on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night. But in addition to all of those top notch performances, Wiig brought along the trailer for yet another low-budget film she was working on, sort of as a treat for Kimmel’s audience.

Crying in a Sweater sets itself up as quite the Oscar-baiting film. In the trailer, Wiig got to show off her dramatic side by crying while wearing a sweater. She could be on a couch, on the floor, or on a table, Wiig’s tears just kept rolling onto the wool. Despite the film’s low budget, the reviews seem to have been overwhelmingly positive, at least according to the trailer. And what a directional turn from Michael Bay! You wouldn’t think he would get the nuance involved with crying in a sweater, but he sure proved me wrong. Just give him the trophy now. No one is going to top this.
