Kyle MacLachlan And The New ‘Twin Peaks’ Cast Are Here To Get Fans Excited For The Showtime Series

We still don’t know exactly when David Lynch’s Twin Peaks revival is going to air (most likely the first half of 2017), but we do know that filming has wrapped, and the new Showtime series boasts an insanely impressive and weird cast, with newbies Eddie Vedder, Naomi Watts, Michael Cera, Jim Belushi, Trent Reznor, Amanda Seyfried, and Matthew Lillard, among many others joining the returning players. Otherwise, production has been kept tightly under wraps, so this new featurette from Showtime gives us our first real taste of the revival by bringing some of the new and returning cast together to discuss the upcoming series.

As Kyle MacLachlan (Agent Dale Cooper) describes getting the gang back together, “There was nothing like it. Revisiting all this old territory, there’s a freshness to it; there’s a lightness to it,” while Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs) says, “It’s just been a beautiful thing to see everybody, it’s almost as if no time had passed.” Meanwhile newcomer Belushi, sure to be everybody’s favorite new Twin Peaks character, observes, “It’s spontaneous, it’s in the moment, and it’s the best kind of acting.” (Better than this kind of acting?)

Even James Marshall (James!!!) is back, who says, “The journey that the characters go on is remarkable. The show is very dynamic and has a lot of facets. In my opinion, it discovers, in a poetic way, the whole human experience.” Ah, so he means more of a metaphorical journey, as opposed to the kind someone goes on when they ride off into the sunset on a motorcycle.

Okay, I give. I’m pretty excited for this thing now. 2017 can’t get here fast enough.
