Let’s Talk Thursday’s Geeky TV: ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Abducts Vandal Savage Jr.

Rip Hunter is reasonably pretty upset at Vandal Savage, who over the course of Legends of Tomorrow has outed himself as not just a supervillain but kind of a jerk into the bargain. But is Hunter angry enough to bump off a kid, even if he’s a little Stalin in training? Quite possibly!

This episode delves into one of the classic time travel conundrums: If you can go back in time and kill somebody you know is going to be a vicious dictator, why don’t you? Should you accept the horrors that person inflicted on humanity, or roll the dice that their horrors, and the actions taken to stop them, prevented something somehow worse? Expect them to step riiiiiight up to mentioning Hitler but to not actually go there.

Meanwhile, Ray and Kendra’s romance is going to hit a few speedbumps, which is unavoidable when you’re as naïve as Ray manages to somehow be and have as many past lives as Kendra. Also there’s the whole issue of what they’re going to do with Chronos, the bounty hunter they’ve got in the brig and who’s identity we won’t reveal for anybody who might still have catching up to do. But first we need to see their approach to spanking future dictators, and that’ll be tonight at 8 p.m. on the CW. Join us, won’t you?
