Lin-Manuel Miranda Admits That Even He Has Trouble Getting ‘Hamilton’ Tickets In The New ‘SNL’ Promo

Lin-Manuel Miranda certainly has his work cut out for him when he takes the stage to host Saturday Night Live this weekend. The buzz surrounding Alec Baldwin’s uncanny and almost too good Donald Trump impression still hasn’t died down from the season 42 premiere, and so expectations should be high that SNL’s new head writers will capitalize on that viral success and build some much-needed momentum for the show. It shouldn’t be hard, though, seeing as Miranda is a massively popular Broadway star whose hip-hop musical Hamilton remains a must-see performance, even after the creator and star took his final bow.

Miranda acknowledges his play’s incredible popularity in the new promos for this week’s episode of SNL, as he mocks the fact that it’s impossible to get tickets. Well, not impossible as much as it’ll cost the average person six paychecks and a kidney for the worst seats. So, if Miranda knows what’s good for him, he’ll treat us all to some extra special 2016 presidential election raps, since, you know, there’s plenty of ridiculous material to work with. Will we also get dueling Mirandas with his promo co-star Cecily Strong, who impersonated him last week? That’s probably the easiest bet of the season.
