Emotions, people. Emotions. It was impossible not to go through them all during last night’s Louie: I laughed when Louie held up a sign reading “JEWS” during his talk show. I cried when his girls made a Dad Night Live card. I was excited to see David Lynch again, as well as Susan Sarandon, Paul Rudd, and Jerry Seinfeld. I was mad when Seinfeld came into the dressing room and lied and said he’d already gotten the job. I was disappointed when he didn’t get the job. I felt exalted when he realized it didn’t matter; he had done a damn good job and besides, F*CK LETTERMAN. Most of all, I was proud of Louie as a TV show for pulling off something as remarkable, heartbreaking, and beautiful as the “Late Show” trilogy. I wish it wasn’t over.
And that every episode had at least one penis parade dance.
