Mark Wahlberg Is Making A ‘Big Bang Theory’-Themed Reality Show About Nerds Brewing Beer

Hey, you, Internet user. Do you like BEER and NERDS and REALITY SHOWS BASED LOOSELY ON RATINGS JUGGERNAUT SITCOMS THAT ARE KIND OF CRAPPY BUT YOUR OLDER RELATIVES LIKE THEM, SO WHEN YOU’RE AT THANKSGIVING AND THEY SAY “HEY, DIDJA SEE THE LAST EPISODE OF TWO AND A HALF BROKE SCIENTISTS? I LOVE THAT SHOW” YOU JUST GRIT YOUR TEETH AND ARE ALL “HUH, MUST HAVE MISSED IT, AUNT DOLORES,” BECAUSE IF YOU ARE MEAN TO AUNT DOLORES SHE MIGHT NOT GET YOU THAT OLD NAVY GIFT CARD FOR CHRISTMAS? Well, hoo buddy, do Mark “But What If We Set It In Boston?” Wahlberg and A&E have some good news for you.

Tipping its hat to hit comedy The Big Bang Theory, the half-hour project is tentatively titled Big Brew Theory. It follows four quirky and highly intelligent MIT grad students who have pooled their life savings to achieve their dream of creating a home grown micro-brewery and team up with a beautiful MIT undergrad to launch their business. My favorite part of that blockquote is that the last sentence kind of makes it sound like “and team up with a beautiful MIT undergrad to launch their business” was part of their dream. I’m picturing them in their college apartment with a big whiteboard that said…

BUSINESS PLAN

1) ????
2) Team up with beautiful MIT undergrad
3) Profit

… for months before one of them was like, “Uh, how bout a brewery?” The American dream at work.
