Matt LeBlanc Is The New Co-Host Of ‘Top Gear’

Matt LeBlanc must hear, “How you doin’?” at least 27 times a day. It’s become white noise to him (the only question he gets half as much is, “Wait, Episodes is still on?”). But were you to ask him his catchphrase today, he’d respond, “Quite well, thank you very much,” because The Man Known as Joey from Friends has been picked as the new co-host of BBC’s car love-fest Top Gear.

“As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show’s new chapter,” said Matt. “What a thrill!”(Via)

He’ll co-host (the first American to do so in the 39-year history of the series) with the previously announced Chris Evans (no, not THAT Chris Evans). “Matt’s a lifelong fellow petrolhead,” the non-Captain America Evans said, “and I’m thrilled he’s joining Top Gear. Acting out our craziest car notions on screen is a dream job and I know we’ll both be debating some epic road trip ideas. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been up to on screen later this year.”

No offense to Evans, but I think the BBC missed an opportunity to reunite LeBlanc with his favorite scene partner: Ed. A baseball-playing monkey driving a car? Now that’s entertainment.
