Martin Scorsese And Mick Jagger Explore The 1970s Music Scene In HBO’s ‘Vinyl’

If anybody knows the debauchery of 1970s, it’s Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese. Well, you know… not only them. But, if someone were to ask you, “Who are two celebrities who would know a lot about the back rooms and underbelly of the 1970s pop culture scene?” and you answered, “Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese,” you would get point or dollars or whatever we’re deciding this imaginary game show we’ve just invented hands out. Anyway, because of this, it’s kind of exciting that they’re teaming up for an HBO series about the rock scene of that decade.

The series, entitled Vinyl, is expected to focus on a record executive trying to make a name for his label just as both punk and disco are becoming emerging genres. The pilot’s script was written by Terence Winter, who also worked on Boardwalk Empire.

So, who can we expect to star in this velvet goldmine? Word is that Ray Romano, Andrew “Dice” Clay (YES!), Olivia Wilde, Bobby Cannavale, and James Jagger (Mick’s son) are all signed on as cast members.
