Negan Drops A Load Of F-Bombs In The Uncut Finale Scene From ‘The Walking Dead’

As reported following the conclusion of The Walking Dead season six, we know that Negan’s uncut introduction onto the show will have a home on the Blu Ray release next Tuesday. But what we didn’t know is just how close to the source material we’d be getting with the scene. In the comics, Negan has a very colorful and profane vocabulary that just can’t translate to television too well.

Luckily, it does transfer to Blu Ray pretty well and the Blu Ray scene carries a hefty total with it according to The Hollywood Reporter:

To be released to the public on Tuesday, the scene peppers in a whopping 23 — yes, twenty-three — references to the word “f—.” In many cases, the broadcast version that aired on AMC just avoided the language completely, while other times Negan swaps out the expletive for another, safer for viewers, term.

Like this famous line from Robert Kirkman’s comic book series, which is included on the Blu-ray in all its glory:

“I am gonna beat the holy f— f—ing f—ety f— out of one of you.”

Which, translated for broadcast, wound up airing as “I’m gonna beat the holy hell out of one of you.”

That’s a lot of f*cks. We knew the show would get creative to get around how the character talks when on the network, but they haven’t shied away from filming multiple versions of scenes in the past. Who can forget the uncut, proper version of Rick’s concluding words from season four.

And if you needed a bigger breakdown, The Hollywood Reporter gives us a clear look at all the different variations we can expect:

F—: 3
F—ed: 2
F—ing: 16
F—er: 1
F—ety: 1

That’s one role that has to be a ball to film, unless you have to be on the receiving end of it.
