Pete Davidson Outlines The Ridiculous Houston Transgender Decision By Discussing His Bathroom Habits

When it comes to enjoyable bits on SNL, it’s hard to argue with Pete Davidson’s appearances on Weekend Update. While the show remains divisive and inconsistent from week to week among fans, Davidson’s riffs in the middle of the show are typically funny segments that meander around a point and take tiny detours into his “real” life. This week’s is a perfect example because he begins by making some very strong points about the recent decision with Houston’s Equal Rights Ordinance and the silliness behind the idea of someone using it to peep on women in the bathroom, then he careens off into his own personal bathroom habits.

From calling out ladies for being sloppier than men with their bathroom cleanliness (“it looks like a man made out of toilet paper was murdered in there” is a highlight) to complimenting Cecily Strong on her singing voice, Davidson once again shows that he’s a damn gem on the show. You almost want Lorne Michaels to chain him up in his own private bathroom and never let him leave the show. He’s young enough to treat it like a baseball contract, just keep him signed on until he’s 30 or something. “You’re our new Tim Meadows,” he says as he locks the bathroom door.

That’s great praise, too. Tim Meadows is pretty cool too.
