Here’s A Sneak Peek At The First Blasphemous Trailer For ‘Preacher’

The first full trailer for the new AMC series, Preacher, won’t air until sometime during Sunday’s 90-minute episode of The Walking Dead. However, the television adaptation spearheaded by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg just gifted the world with 12 seconds of never-before-seen footage from the new series, and it’s wonderful.

Sure, it’s only a 12-second teaser for what will ultimately be a slightly-longer television commercial. (A preview of a preview, if you like.) All of the actual footage accounts for about four of those 12 seconds, while the rest is a reminder to watch Sunday’s The Walking Dead for the trailer. But this is Preacher we’re talking about! We’ve been waiting for this since news of Rogen and AMC’s involvement first broke back in 2013. So of course we’re going to be ecstatic about 4 seconds of walking, guys jumping out of airplanes, vampires, bloody explosions, fiery helicopter crashes, bar brawls and sermons.

Based on the phenomenal comic series penned by Garth Ennis, Preacher follows Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a troubled preacher working in a small Texas town. When a mysterious being inhabits him, granting him otherworldly powers, Custer, his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) set off to try to find God, who went missing after leaving heaven.

Preacher premieres sometime in 2016.
