Ryan Reynolds knew just what song to play to help his wife Blake Lively deliver their ahhhhh baby. The actor confessed on Late Night with Seth Meyers that he tried to play delivery room DJ and even dropped Marvin Gaye’s classic “Let’s Get It On” at one point. Lively was not amused, to say the least.
“It was like steak knives came out of her eyes. She was like ‘Are you f*cking kidding me right now?’ “
The Deadpool star (who might actually be Deadpool at this point) admitted that he has since paid penance for his antics during the delivery. He told Meyers — who is expecting his first child — to go ahead and “do the dirty work” after the baby is born.
“You gotta do the diapers. You gotta do the middle-of-the-night thing. A human being will exit your wife. So, she’s done enough. Just change the diapers and do all that.”
While Reynolds seems content to raise his daughter with Lively, his Deadpool character recently admitted to wanting a whole gang of littles. In a “Superb Owl” spot for the (supremely marketed) movie, the “Merc With a Mouth” claimed he always wanted to be a professional athlete, so he could have “children in cities all over the world.”
