Seth Meyers Attempts To Kill The Idea Of An Aaron Sorkin Sketch With His Own Aaron Sorkin Sketch

Aaron Sorkin can’t make an appearance on your show without having an Aaron Sorkin parody sketch. It just wouldn’t be right. Also I think aside from the rabid drug use, an Aaron Sorkin interview without making fun of his trademarks and habits is probably pretty bland. “Tell us about your process, Mr. Sorkin,” and then I blow my brains out on national television.

Seth Meyers tries his best to give us a quality Aaron Sorkin parody sketch, including the key bit of Sorkin lore that always gets overlooked: the self-plagiarism. The term itself is questionable bullsh*t, but it is funny that they make note of all the comedy bits that have ripped each other off in the sake of ripping on Aaron Sorkin’s ripping off of his own body of work. Oh and Lutz is here, so that’s a plus.

30 Rock did do it better, making the second time that 30 Rock beat Sorkin at his own game (Studio 60 was meant to be the big hit on NBC around the same time 30 Rock premiered). I miss 30 Rock.
