Did You Notice All The New Tech Companies In The New ‘Silicon Valley’ Opening Credits?

HBO’s Silicon Valley is one of the sharpest shows on television right now, skewering the big companies and even bigger personalities that rule over the world of high tech. But for a show with its finger on the pulse of tech, its opening credits were starting to feel a little out of date. They showed a SimCity-style landscape with a time lapse of office buildings being torn down and built up.

Season one had relatively ancient companies like AOL, MySpace, Netscape, and Napster represented. Season two saw a few minor changes made, with an Uber hot-air balloon taking to the air. With season three, however, they’ve revamped things even further with several new additions.

In the newest version of the credits, wholesalers at Alibaba Group have completed their near-takeover of Yahoo’s building, and ride-sharing company Uber now has competitor Lyft pushing up against its balloon. Google’s parent company Alphabet is now represented, and so is Elon Musk’s electric car company Tesla. Amazon has delivery drones flying through the sky, and several Soylent meal replacement trucks can be seen driving through the streets.

The world of Silicon Valley is fast-paced and ever-changing, so it’s cool to see the show evolving alongside the region it represents. Take a look through the videos for each season below…
