‘The Simpsons’ Will Kill Off A Regular Character This Season: Who Ya Got?

It’s been 14 years since The Simpsons sent Maude Flanders to the great PTA Bake Sale in the sky. The period between then and now has been relatively peaceful, save a few explosions, citywide disasters, and hounds-releasings, but that will all come to an end soon, as executive producer Al Jean has confirmed that the producers plan to kill off another regular character at some point this season. As far as which character that will be, Jean said, “I’ll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won’t say who it is,” which would be an incredibly helpful hint if not for the fact that pretty much everyone associated with the show has won an Emmy during its 25 year run.

Soooooooo who ya got? And how? Mr. Burns running over Smithers with a golf cart? Lenny choking on a peanut at Moe’s? Carl committing suicide after thinking Lenny died from choking on a peanut, only to see Lenny regain consciousness as his own life slips away? Screaming “I CALLED IT” at strangers on the Internet is one of this century’s greatest pleasures, so get your pick on the record now to preserve it as evidence.

Whatever happens, I think we can all agree that it’s gonna tough to top death by t-shirt cannon.
