Let get this out of the way now: last night’s SNL was not very good. Mike Ryan will expand on this in his recap later today, but “Wishing Boot” was emblematic of the episode as a whole. It’s not a bad idea — host Blake Shelton, Kate McKinnon, and Aidy Bryant perform a country song about a magical boot that’s full of food and, oh yeah, it’s also a dog — but it’s much longer than it needs to be and, despite the killer ‘stache, Shelton is a bit of a comedic dud.
That being said, “Wishing Boot” has been stuck in my head all morning, so…
