Stephen Colbert And Jack Black Have An American Ballad For All The Presidential Campaigns

Throughout the 2016 election, presidential candidates have often turned to rock songs to get the voter base hyped up. However, some artists would prefer to not have their music involved with certain candidates. Neil Young, R.E.M., and Aerosmith respectively have told Donald Trump to stop using their music, while Kim Davis managed draw the ire of Survivor for using “Eye of the Tiger” at her her bail rally.

Noting this void in the candidate rock anthems, Stephen Colbert and Jack Black teamed up to provide every presidential candidate with a song “generic enough not to offend anyone, but generic enough to be loved by everyone.” Indeed, “My Kind of America” will make you feel feelings of freedom with lyrics like “blue jeans and rock and roll, trucks and apple pie” and a quick mention of Betsy Ross’ other accomplishments. Certainly, “My Kind of America” has all the generic pleasantries one needs to make you feel great about the best country ever, but there’s something missing. If only there were more rising up and repeated threats of ass-kicking.

Well, that tears it. We need to stop treading on Charlie Day and use “Rock, Flag, and Eagle” for all the candidate stops.
