Here’s Your Out Of Character Evidence That Stephen Colbert Is Always Funny

Stephen Colbert is going to be our new Late Show host after David Letterman retires in 2015. A lot of the internet is responding by thinking Colbert can’t be funny outside of his faux conservative character. What those people don’t understand is that Colbert is hilarious at all times. These clips of him out of character showcase exactly why he is getting the job.

Here he is being charming and funny with Larry King:

Here is a behind the scenes look at The Colbert Report when John Kerry came by. He explains his character to Kerry and it’s really fascinating to see him discuss it to make Kerry know what he is getting himself into.

Check out this video of Colbert from 1997 when he was reporting for Good Morning America. He’s so young!

And the must-watch video of Colbert and Oprah.

I think we can put to rest all the naysayers. Stephen Colbert is always funny, and he wouldn’t take the job if he didn’t know he would own it. I for one can’t wait to see him host, but also will be sad to see The Colbert Report come to an end. I’m so torn. There’s too much good late night programming. This isn’t helping my insomnia AT ALL.
