As they impatiently await the return of Supergirl after it makes the switch from CBS to The CW, fans are latching on to every bit of news to come their way. With the possible introduction of Batwoman and Oracle to the show and the super cross over with the rest of The CW’s DC universe, there is certainly plenty to look forward to. Perhaps the biggest news, though, was that Superman would be flying into National City to visit his cousin at the beginning of the season, and that he would be played by Teen Wolf‘s Tyler Hoechlin.
No word yet on how substantial his role would be (although we can guess that it will be sizeable), but The CW released the first look at his costume on Thursday, and it sure looks like a Superman suit!
Yet again, Supes’ classic red briefs have been left in the closets of yesteryear. The suit is also significantly brighter than the vision of Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, so yet another way to cite a clear difference between the two visions of DC’s finest. We’ll have to wait and see if this Clark Kent cracks a smile.
Supergirl flies back onto screens on Monday, October 10, and she can’t get here soon enough.
