The 10 Best GIFs From Last Night’s NBC Comedies

Jack chilling with Kermit the Frog, Die Hard references, AND Christie Brinkley? It was a good night of TV.

  • 30 Rock: My god. 30 Rock pulled off something genuinely emotional two weeks in a row. That’s gotta be a record. Last week, it was overweight African American Liz Lemon getting married; last night, it was Jack’s mother dying. Obviously, because it’s 30 Rock, “My Whole Life Is Thunder” never flirted with “A Very Special Episode” territory, though, unless I’m misremembering a Facts of Life with a gimp priest, Florence Henderson chugging a bottle of Windex, and someone screaming, “You had me at Hayden Panettiere is dead!” Tootie would totally say that.
  • Up All Night: Did I miss anything?
  • The Office: The Office has always done Christmas episodes extremely well. “A Benihana Christmas” and “Christmas Party” are the two best examples, and while “Dwight Christmas” never reached their level of comedic brilliance, it was about as solid as a season nine Office episode could be. Very messy, sure, but Andy’s still dead or something, which is good, and there were enough scenes with New Jim and Erin watching Die Hard (the ONLY Christmas movie, except Gremlins), Darryl getting drunk, and Dwight acting like homeless Dutch Santa to distract from how little we know about Jim’s job, and why we should care. Also, does anyone else get the feeling that Jim and Pam are miserable and the only way they can get their kicks is to play jokes on Dwight? No? Just me? OK.
  • Parks and Recreation: Man Perkins. MERRY CHRISTMAS BITCHES. “It might be cold outside, but it’s about to get warm all up in my jazz.” *points to vagina* “Ron and Diane” was a very quotable episode (it was basically a half-hour of fan service, which is totally fine with me), and one of Parks best in awhile.

Jingle bells, jingle yay, jingle good…FOR GIFS.
