The 15 Best Lines From Last Night’s Intelligence-Defying ‘The League’

Look: Even great comedies have a bad night, and last night was most certainly a bad one for The League. I don’t know whether it was because Rafi wasn’t on the episode, or whether the writing just fell flat. I have a sneaking suspicion that they took the cameo from Ryan Fitzgerald (really? That’s the best that you could do? Even people in Buffalo were shrugging) and worked backwards. “What do we know about Fitzgerald? Oh yeah: He went to Harvard. What can we do with that? Let’s make Ruxin dumb. Uh, sure. OK.” It wasn’t an unenjoyable episode to watch; it just wasn’t that funny. I had to stretch to come up with 15 lines, and even after listening to it 47 times, I still don’t know what Ruxin was saying in the first screenshot, but I liked the image.

Let’s get this over with so you can all get your Rafi badges.
