The ‘American Horror Story’ Teaser Trailer Is Teasery

The teaser trailer for “American Horror Story,” FX’s new drama from “Glee” creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, was released today, and it is mighty teasery. It’s always hard to make sense of a teaser trailer like this, because the point of them is to pique your interest, not explain away important plot points. But at the very least, it looks cool. So far, all I can tell is that there’s a pretty maid, some sort of reverse Fire Santa, Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton, and they’re all hanging out in a haunted house.

The show’s gotten polarized reviews, with some critics loving it and others not so much (no big shocker given Murphy’s similar track record with “Glee” and “Nip/Tuck”), but FX is really, really pumped about it. And this is the channel that brought us “Justified,” “Louie” and “Terriers,” so I’m inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt*.

Aww. Now I’m sad about “Terriers” again.

*And when I say “I’m inclined to given them the benefit of the doubt,” I mean “you should be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.” I will not be watching this show. Not because I don’t think it will be good, but because I think it will be scary. I am a more of a wuss than you can possibly imagine.
