The Best Song About ‘Law & Order’ You Will Ever Hear

A little over a week ago, comedian Paul F. Tompkins shared this song about Law & Order on Tumblr. It has been stuck in my head ever since, and now in all likelihood it will become stuck in yours as well. You are all incredibly welcome.

Basically all you need to know is this: It was written and performed by cartoonist David Rees and his friend Mike, and they really, really like Law & Order. As someone who has probably seen every episode between two and twenty times, I can understand their obsession. I was heartbroken when the show was canceled, but between the ever-present reruns on TNT, comedian John Mulaney’s Hall of Fame bit from his album The Top Part (which you should really go listen to on Spotify or Grooveshark or something), and songs like this, I feel confident when I say that Law & Order will never die.

In conclusion, Jack McCoy was a boss. Please find Exhibit A below.
