‘The Daily Show’ Is Finding Out The Hard Way That One Direction Fans Don’t Have A Great Sense Of Humor

On last night’s Daily Show, correspondent Jessica Williams did a segment about all of the new terrorist groups popping up in the middle east, with a bunch of satirically named groups. At one point she told Jon Stewart that while he was talking, “a new terrorist group just formed, with one member each from ISIS, al Nusra, al Qaeda, Hamas, One Direction, and the Zetas drug cartel!” Ha ha, it’s funny because One Direction is a boy band and their music is terrible — so in a way it’s like they’re terrorizing us with their music, right?

Unsurprisingly, One Direction fans — who apparently watch The Daily Show — took offense to the joke because as it turns out One Direction member Zayn Malik is actually a Muslim. This has now led to a Twitter backlash by frothing One Direction fans who DEMAND SATISFACTION with the hashtag #thedailyshowgonetoofar. Most of them are just expletives with a hashtag, but here are some of the more creative ones:

Unless I’m missing something, I don’t know about that last one. (What, is Malik a firefighter in his spare time?) In any case, if I didn’t know that one of the members of One Direction was a Muslim than I can almost assure you that some random writer for The Daily Show didn’t. And anyway, she only said “one” member from One Direction. It’s not like she specifically pointed out “Zayn Malik, that dirty, dirty Muslim,” because she could have been referring to the Styles kid with the hair for all we know. In fact, aren’t the One Direction fans the ones who are racist because they just jumped to the conclusion that Zayn Malik was the terrorist? Oh yeah, I just turned it around on them. REVERSE RACISM, BITCHES.
