‘The Flash’ And ‘Supergirl’ Are Staging A Crossover Musical

We know the cast of The Flash can sing. We know Supergirl can sing. So perhaps this was all but inevitable: The Flash and Supergirl are putting on a show, a two-parter musical episode.

Greg Berlanti confirmed as much during a Television Critics Association panel, Entertainment Weekly reports, stating that the crossover was coming in the back half of the year, so, likely during sweeps. He also noted that the whole cast was stacked with musical talent, and that he was bringing back some musically inclined guest stars for the event, so we won’t have any moments like poor Alyson Hannigan having to offer up filler during the Buffy musical.

The question, of course, is just how this particular plot will come together, as we don’t usually see the Flash or Supergirl hanging out in jazz clubs or staging showstoppers. Well, at least not on Earth One, anyway. There is, of course, the much beloved episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold where Neil Patrick Harris plays the Music Meister, and we learn that even Gorilla Grodd has pipes. Maybe it could be Grodd, making his triumphant return from the alternate reality gorilla sanctuary he was dumped in with musical gorillas? Look, trust us, DC has done much stranger things with gorillas than have them sing.
