The Funniest “Young Kid-with-AIDS Joke from ‘Mr. Belvedere'” You’ll See All Day

So. Before we get to “Community,” let’s talk about AIDS. In a second season episode of ABC’s “Mr. Belvedere,” which aired from 1985-1990, called “Wesley’s Friend,” a little boy named Danny arrives at the Owens’ household. He’s looking for his friend, and while waiting, Wesley’s dad George (Bob Uecker) asks, “How’s it going?”

“Well,” Danny says, “I got AIDS. But other than that, I’m doing pretty good.” Earlier in his career, the actor who plays (played…?) Danny, Ian Fried, portrayed Rocky Jr. in Rocky III, so I understand where the optimism’s coming from. But c’mon, that’s not even the best AIDS-related remark on a TV show of the 1980s/1990s. That honor, of course, goes to, “Walker told me I have AIDS.”

See both and judge for yourself after the jump.
