The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5 Blu-Ray Contains A Bonus Feature That Fans Will Adore

If you were thinking twice about purchasing the Game of Thrones Season 5 Blu-ray (set to be released a month before the new season arrives in April), you might want to reconsider that decision. In addition to all of the crazy moments and battles from Season 5, the Blu-ray will also include a 20-minute cartoon titled “The Dance With Dragons” about the Targaryen civil war, which occurred when two sides of the notoriously blonde and brutal family turned against each other to fight over the throne. IGN premiered an exclusive first look at the featurette, which includes this synopsis:

Pedro Pascal, who played Oberyn Martell in Season 4, narrate as Prince Aemond and his dragon Vhagar clash with his uncle Prince Daemon and his dragon Caraxes over the lake outside Harrenhal.

Many fans have missed the dashing Pascal since he was brutally murdered in a battle to the death at the tail end of Season 4. Even though this is a voiceover-only performance, it’s still nice to have him back in the mix. Even if it’s just for a few minutes. Pascal isn’t the only actor coming back from the fictional dead to participate in the special though. IGN reports more details:

Beyond Pascal, The Dance of Dragons feature will include more actors who were killed off in previous seasons of Game of Thrones. Also contributing their voice work are Kerry Ingram, who played Shireen Barathon; Harry Lloyd, who played Viserys Targaryen; Mark Addy, who plays Robert Baratheon; Michelle Fairley, who played Catelyn Stark; and Jack Gleeson, who played Joffrey Baratheon.

There’s much to look forward to in the upcoming season, including some answers about just how dead Jon Snow really is, but if you can’t wait that long for some new Westeros content, pick up the Blu-ray on March 15th and enjoy an important chapter in the history of the fantasy world in cartoon form.
