The History Channel Has Renewed ‘Vikings’ For A Fourth Season

The History Channel has officially ordered a fourth season of Vikings. Production of new episodes will take place in Ireland this Spring. According to a recent casting notice, Ragnar’s forces will be out in full force for the upcoming season. Right now, the amount of episodes set for the 2015 production slate is still unknown, but previous seasons put an educated guess at 10.

The Michael Hirst-created series was also greenlit for a fourth season through Canada’s History Channel. There are five episodes remaining in the show’s third season, which has ranked as the top-rated cable series on Thursday nights with an average of 4.3 million viewers tuning in weekly. The Season 3 finale is set to air on April 23.
