This Is Why Everyone’s Talking About Last Night’s Episode Of ‘The Jinx’

Yesterday, we mentioned that Robert Durst, the subject of HBO’s suddenly buzzed about documentary The Jinx, had been arrested “in connection to a murder in Los Angeles from 15 years ago.” Many suspected that last night’s series finale was somehow connected to the detainment; you wouldn’t be wrong for thinking so.

You should just watch the entire episode/season to get the whole story, because it’s great television. But if you’re more of an instant gratification person, here’s last night’s big reveal: at one point during an important interview with director Andrew Jarecki, Durst walked to the bathroom, and with his microphone still on, said the following:

“There it is. You’re caught. You’re right, of course. But you can’t imagine. Arrest him. I don’t know what’s in the house. Oh, I want this. What a disaster. He was right. I was wrong. And the burping. I’m having difficulty with the question. What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course.”

He’s guilty of at least one thing: not singing “Walking on Sunshine” while in the can like a normal person. Here’s the damning moment:
