As is written in The Walking Dead bylaws, there can only be one main male black character on the show at a time, so it’s with a heavy heart that I must inform you: R.I.P. Tyreese (Girl Tyreese, you’re safe…for now). It was a sudden, painless death, announced in the sacred scrolls known as iDigitalTimes, which reported The Wire‘s Larry Gilliard Jr., a.k.a. D’Angelo “The Past Is Always With Us, Because Zombies” Barksdale, will join the zombie series as former-Army medic Roy Stark in season four. A brief excerpt of the obituary:
The character is said to be plagued by his past before and after the zombie apocalypse, keeping to himself mostly, but maintaining a charming, confident and self-deprecating exterior. The original casting notice called for an actor in his 30s to 40s. So far, The Walking Dead season four has bumped up actors Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Emily Kinney to series regular, while AMC earlier confirmed that David Morrissey’s villainous Governor would also return in season four as a series regular.
