Did A Russian TV Ad Just Reveal A Major ‘Walking Dead’ Character’s Fate?

The Walking Dead is shambling its way slowly but surely towards its mid-season premiere on Sunday, February 14, and along with it comes spoilers, endless hordes of spoilers! Just in case the title of this article didn’t tip you off, that’s what you’re going to find in this post! DON’T DEAD SPOILERS INSIDE!

So, if you’ve read the comic books, you’ll already know that Carl Grimes had his eye (and half of his head) shot off in an accident involving Alexandria Safe Zone leader Douglas Monroe (gender-swapped in the show to Deanna Monroe). For the past season and a half, The Walking Dead showrunners have been teasing us with the possibility of a similar fate for our sweet disfigurement-free TV Carl. And now a Russian Fox ad may have let the cat out of the bag:

The Walking Dead is licensed out to Fox in many international regions, Russia included. And the style of the ad is identical to other Russian Fox ads being run on their website and social media pages, so it seems legit.

So, how do you think Carl is going to lose an eye? Will it be Porchdick Jr. who ends up shooting it out? Something the shadowy Negan and his band of Saviors are responsible for? Even as one answer seems to be provided, more questions pop up. As Robert Kirkman has said, this is going to be one of the deadliest seasons of the show, so it’s not surprising some of our favorite characters don’t make it out in one piece.
