What We Know About ‘The Walking Dead’ And ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Ahead Of Comic-Con

As San Diego Comic-Con 2016 approaches this week, fans of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead have a lot to look forward to when both series hit Hall H. AMC has been slowly meting out some clues about season seven of TWD ahead of the show’s big panel on Friday, including debuting some new photos. We’ve already seen Negan at the bat, and now, we have our first look at Morgan back in action in the new episodes.

Entertainment Weekly debuted the image, which features Morgan (Lennie James) once again wielding his trusty staff — but it also looks like he’s still carrying a gun, too. That’s consistent with where we left off with the character in the season six finale, when he finally broke his vow to never kill another human being in order to save Carol’s life. According to EW, Morgan may be pictured here at the Kingdom, another mysterious settlement that’s rumored to play a significant role in season seven. Producer Greg Nicotero told the magazine that the new episodes would explore the “very big world” outside Alexandria.

In addition to that photo, AMC has debuted an official TWD poster for Comic-Con, featuring the terrified members of Negan’s lineup of potential Lucille victims. A Walking Dead booth (#4237) on the event’s main floor will showcase that image, and brave fans can pose in the lineup if they dare. As for the TWD and FTWD panels themselves, here’s everything we know so far about what attendees — and the fans following along at home — can expect from those events:

The Walking Dead
Friday, July 22 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. PST in Hall H
A bunch of cast members — including Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt, Ross Marquand, Christian Serratos, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan — are scheduled to appear, alongside some key members of the show’s creative team: executive producer and showrunner Scott M. Gimple, executive producer Robert Kirkman, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, executive producer Dave Alpert, and special effects makeup supervisor and executive producer Greg Nicotero. The panel will be moderated by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick, and will include a discussion of April’s season six finale — and speculation about who was on the receiving end of Negan’s Lucille beatdown — and what to expect in season seven. A trailer or teaser is also rumored to debut, though the official Comic-Con schedule only alludes to a “sneak peek” of the new episodes. According to fan site Undead Walking, it’s likely that the event will also unveil a new poster, key art, and a premiere date and running time for the season seven premiere.

Fear the Walking Dead
Friday, July 22 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. PST in Hall H
Like its predecessor, Fear‘s panel will also feature most of its main cast, including actors Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Lorenzo James Henrie, Mercedes Mason, and Colman Domingo. They’ll also be joined by executive producer and showrunner Dave Erickson, executive producer Robert Kirkman, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, executive producer Dave Alpert, and special effects makeup supervisor and executive producer Greg Nicotero. Chris Hardwick will moderate this panel as well, in a discussion that breaks down the May midseason finale and includes speculation about the August midseason premiere. A Q&A with the cast is also planned. A teaser for season 2.5 is expected to drop, though it’s unclear what else the show has in store for fans. Undead Walking believes at least some of the conversation will surround the new character played by recent cast addition Danay Garcia, who’s also slated to appear on the panel.
