A ‘Walking Dead’ Attraction Is Coming To Universal Studios

If Chuck E. Cheese’s is where a kid can be a kid, then Universal Studios Hollywood is where an adult with disposable income can become a Minion. The California location of the theme park is the year-round home of rides based on Despicable Me, Jurassic Park, Shrek, The Simpsons, Transformers, and, soon, The Walking Dead. For the past four falls, fans of AMC’s zombie series had to wait until October during Halloween Horror Nights to enter the walker-themed maze, but according to EW, Universal “has announced a permanent residency of its immersive The Walking Dead walk-through attraction.”

They’re already working on a zombies/Dementors crossover.

As described in press notes, the Walking Dead attraction is significantly more intense than its Halloween iteration; the stomach-churning walk-through experience will boast “authentic walker make-up effects, sophisticated animatronic walkers, substantially more detailed set design and costuming, and highly recognizable props replicated from the series. The Walking Dead‘s go-to director Greg Nicotero will help out with the scares, and the attraction, which is a good place to ditch your kids when they’re being annoying, is expected to open this summer. Don’t look at the flowers.

Eh, it’s still not as scary as Jimmy Fallon Land.
