Mad Men (AMC, Sunday) — Season 4 premiere. Perhaps you’ve heard something about this show in the last week or so. In case you missed it, Drew Magary, Spencer Hall, the Cajun Boy, and I all talked about looking forward to the coming season for Drew’s NBC gig. We’re all very good friends who only communicate via the Internet, which helps explain the “BLOG LIFE” tattoo I got on my stomach. BONUS GEEKINESS: the Periodic Table of Mad Men is too dorky even for my dorky tastes.
Rubicon (AMC, Sunday) — This is the same sneak preview that AMC showed after the “Breaking Bad” finale. It was okay, I guess. I probably wouldn’t be inclined to watch more of it, but I think I owe it to myself to give it a couple of episodes given AMC’s track record.
Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors (MTV2, Saturday) — If by “warriors” they mean “guys pretending to fight,” then yes, that’s an accurate title. It’s like the WWE, but in Spanish and with gimp masks.
Pillars of the Earth (Starz, Friday) — Miniseries premiere. Donald Sutherland stars in this 12th-century drama based on Ken Follett’s novel about building a cathedral. That description isn’t making me regret not having Starz.
