Weekend Preview: Season Two Of HBO’s ‘Newsroom’ Debuts

Newsroom (HBO, Sunday 10 p.m.) — Either you love Newsroom, or you hate it, or you love to hate watch it. The recap goes up on Monday, and I’ms sure Josh will come along at some point during the season to offer the <>Newsroom sucks perspective.

Dexter (Showtimes, Sunday 9 p.m.) — At least Newsroom won’t telegraph the entire season’s events in the first two episodes, and then apathetically follow through on them as the final season of Dexter seemingly has. PLEASE BE A BETTER THIRD EPISODE.

Ray Donovan (Showtime, Sunday 10 p.m.) — I liked the pilot OK, save for the dreadful Boson accents, but the second episode seemed to go backwards on the potential of the series. The characters are great. The premise is cool. The writing? Not so good.

Orange is the New Black (Netflix, Anytime) — We haven’t really given that much coverage to Netflix’s latest series, but I’m four episodes in, and it’s all I want to watch right now. It is crazy good, and just another reason why Netflix may yet be the most dominating force in television soon.

True Blood (HBO, Sunday 9 p.m.) — What do people without HBO, Showtime, or Netflix watch during the summer? Also, I heard that last week’s episode of True Blood was not terrible.

Copper (BBC America, Sunday 10 p.m.) — Has anyone been watching season two? Has it improved on season one? I hear that, despite Donal Logue’s heritage, he doesn’t have a particularly good Irish accent. Can’t be worse than his weird accent in Vikings.
