Weekend Preview: ‘Homeland’ Ends Its Season And Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Host The Christmas ‘SNL’

Saturday Night Live (NBC, Saturday 11:30 p.m.) — Best friends forever and former Saturday Night Live juggernauts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler return to Studio 8H with The Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen, to host what is as close to “can’t miss” as an episode of SNL can get.

Homeland (Showtime, Sunday 9:00 p.m.) — It all comes down to this: Carrie’s walking toward the white light … except that white light is attached to the front of a speeding train that could derail humanity as we know it in the season five finale of Homeland.

F Is for Family (Netflix, Anytime) — Bill Burr has teamed up with The Simpsons writer Michael Price and added the voices of Sam Rockwell, Justin Long, Laura Dern and more for an animated series about just how dysfunctional — and profane — a prototypical family could have been in the 1970s.

Making a Murderer (Netflix, Anytime) — Is your jaw still on the floor from the end of The Jinx? Did you basically freebase Serial? Then go buy popcorn in bulk and saddle up to binge this murder-based docs-series about a man who was wrongly convicted of a brutal assault, and then later suspected of another violent crime in the midst of lawsuit that could have landed him millions.

The Knick (Cinemax, Friday 10:00 p.m.) — Cleary can’t quite Harriet, Thackery blows off Zinberg, and Cornelia is all up in Henry’s face about the family bidness in the season two finale.

Democratic Debate (ABC, Saturday 8:00 p.m.) — Hillary Clinton. Bernie Sanders. Martin O’Malley. The three leading potential Democratic candidates will square off at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire for the final presidential debate of 2015.

Thursday Night Football (NFL Network, Saturday 8:25 p.m.) — Yes. You read that right. Thursday Night Football: Now on Saturdays, too. The Jets and Cowboys go head-to-head in a game that would have been much more fun to watch in, say, 2009. I wonder who Keyshawn Johnson is rooting for …

Imagine: John Lennon 75th Birthday Concert (AMC, Saturday 9:00 p.m.) — Willie Nelson, Steven Tyler, Brandon Flowers, Tom Morello, Sheryl Crow, Aloe Blacc, John Fogerty and a slew of other stars come together (see what I did there?) to celebrate what would have been John Lennon’s 75th birthday.

64th Annual Miss Universe Pageant (FOX, Sunday 7:00 p.m.) — All of your favorite Fox comedies are preempted so the world can root for someone to go viral by hilariously botching the Q&A portion of the 64th Annual Miss Universe Pageant.

Sunday Night Football (NBC, Sunday 8:20 p.m.) — Hey, at least this one is on the right day of the week. The Iggles are in a three-way tie for first place in the garbage fire that is the NFC East, and they’ll play host to Carson Palmer and the Arizona Cardinals in some prime time action.

CSI: Cyber (CBS, Sunday 10:30 p.m.) — Someone is playing Robin Hood by hacking ATM machines and making them spit money into the streets. Inevitably, someone is slaughtered in the ensuing madness and the team’s got to figure out who’s responsible. SPOILER: Probably the guy in the green tights.

Late Night Guests

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert — Mandy Patinkin, Kayvon Beykpour and Leon Bridges

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon — Channing Tatum, John Boyega and The Young People’s Chorus of New York City
