Breaking Bad (AMC, Sunday 9 p.m.) — Here’s an interesting fact about Breaking Bad that hasn’t been publicized that much. During filming, the first time Wendy the prostitute appeared, her scene was briefly interrupted when a non-actor attempted to pick up actress Julia Minesci, mistaking her for an actual prostitute. TRUE STORY.
Low Winter Sun (AMC, Sunday 10 p.m.) — There was much grumbling last week that viewers had to watch half an hour of Low Winter Sun before the first commercial break, which featured the “next on” segment of Breaking Bad. It’s hard to build an audience when viewers feel like they’re watching out of obligation, and not because they want to.
Dexter (Showtime, Sunday 9 p.m.) — Did you know that Michael C. Hall was married before Jennifer Carpenter? His previous wife was actually in the penultimate episode of Six Feet Under. She kind of looks like the lead actress on Wings.
Ray Donovan (Showtime, Sunday 10 p.m.) — Anyone still watching this mess, and if so, is it less messy?
Compliance (Showtime, Friday 9:30) — Compliance is a pretty solid docudrama starring Dreama Walker about a real-life incident in which a McDonald’s employee, at the instruction of a police officer on the phone, was detained in a back room for hours, strip searched, given a spanking, sexually molested and forced to perform oral sex. It’s kind of too unbelievable to be true, which is exactly what makes it so fascinating.
Comedy Bang! Bang! (IFC, Friday 10 p.m.) — The title of tonight’s episode is the only reason you need to watch: “Gillian Jacobs wears a red dress with boats on it.”
Hell on Wheels (AMC, Saturday 9 p.m.) — This show is still on, though who’d know with it airing on a Saturday night? Despite that, ratings for last week’s premiere were a decent 2.5 million.
