Weekend Preview: Zombies!

The Walking Dead (AMC, Sunday) — 90-minute season premiere. As I wrote earlier, the people who’ve screened the first two episodes have had very good things to say. It’s still too early to be sure, but it looks like “The Walking Dead” will survive the drama of a new writing staff, budget arguments, and a fired showrunner. (Since the awesome video of all the Season 1 zombie kills got pulled, you’ll just have to settle for some sweet zombie kill GIFs until Sunday night.)

Saturday Night Live (NBC) — The terrific Anna Faris hosts, with terrible musical guest Drake.

Dexter (Showtime, Sunday) — Jennifer Carpenter to NY Mag: “It’s harder and harder to justify” Deb not realizing her brother is a serial killer.

Dune (BBC America, Friday) — Why the hell are we getting unnecessary remakes of Footloose when improved special effects technology totally warrants a remake of Dune?

Boardwalk Empire (HBO, Sunday) — I’m two episodes behind. Have we seen Paz de la Huerta’s boobs yet this season?

CSI: New York (CBS, Friday) — Experiencing “Breaking Bad” withdrawal? Dean Norris (Hank in “BB”) guest stars as a police lieutenant in tonight’s episode. Joey McIntyre also guest stars, but I don’t cater to people experiencing New Kids on the Block withdrawal.
