Girl Meets World (Disney, Friday 8:30 p.m.) — Cory struggles with Riley growing up when he learns that she would rather attend the school dance then participate in their annual tradition of riding the Coney Island roller coaster. THEY GROW UP SO FAST. Before you know it, Riley will be the mother in a different sitcom about her children meeting the world, only it’s a dystopian-version of the world full of ugly, terrible people and the Coney Island roller coaster is crumpled and covered in weeds and the zombies have begun to cannibalize themselves.
Halt and Catch Fire (AMC, Sunday 10 p.m.) — Two more episodes. Only two more episodes. And then it’s out of our lives forever.
Bad Teacher (CBS, Saturday 10:30 p.m.) — Hey, remember the CBS sitcom with Ari Graynor based on the Cameron Diaz movie that CBS didn’t initially pick up but then decided to run with it for mid-season and then took it off the schedule and cancelled it after like four episodes? Well, here’s the SERIES FINALE!
Manhattan (WGN, Sunday 10 p.m.) — I am legitimately excited for this series. I meant to watch the screeners and review it beforehand, but didn’t get to it, but this series — about the men and their families behind the creation of the atomic bomb — looks absolutely excellent. I’ll report back on Monday with a review.
Strain (FX, Sunday 10 p.m.) — I feel like it took a week before some of the critics would come down on The Strain because of how much we respect Guillermo del Toro. But this show is a disaster, and it’s beginning to make me reconsider all of his English-language work.
The Leftovers (HBO, Sunday 10 p.m.) — OK, quickly, let me just reiterate a point about last week’s episode, because I’ve heard a podcast and a read a couple of posts where people were legit confused on the subject (SPOILER): The dead bodies strewn across the road were not actually dead bodies. They were replicas. For loved ones to bury. I just needed to clear that up.
